Main Characteristics Of The Trimaran Trokril

The craft is lightweight (350 kg), on a trailer less than 750 kg. Due to its low weight it can be transported using a small car.

One person can assemble it in 15 minutes and it can be launched by one person alone. Easy handling means sailing can begin at a different location each time (e.g. on the French coast, in Dalmatia or in Greece). In short, it enables one to see more of the world, sail different seas and along different coasts. When not in use, it can be simply driven home or parked somewhere on land, thus avoiding the high costs of marinas.

In addition, the trimaran is very simple to fold in the water and consequently the berthing costs at marinas are lower. As it has no ballast, the lightweight keel is simple and quick to lift; the same is true for the rudder. As a result, the draft is only 14 cm and that makes it possible to safely manoeuvre the craft in the shallows. Therefore, this gives you a greater choice of bays for safe overnight stays, relaxing or dining.

The trimaran is very stable on waves due to its great beam. In addition, as it is light and has a shallow draft, it creates little water resistance. This enables the vessel to reach high speeds by sail and by motor. This makes it ideal for sports sailing. During the calm, the outboard motor will quickly bring you to your destination. As the trimaran is light and responsive, it does not require winches. The high quality deck equipment enables direct contact with the wind, making you feel like you can control the wind with your bare hands.

The trampolines fixed to the hull side are ideal for relaxing as they span more than 6 square metres total. There is also place to lie down on the main hull. The large cockpit comfortably seats six persons and the cabin sleeps four people. If there are three or less people using the boat, there is enough space for a chemical toilet in the cabin. If you are looking for maximum comfort you can use the cabin to store your entire luggage and sail the trimaran from port to port, sleeping in hotels and camps.

Inside, the cabin measures 4 metres in length, 1,2 metres in width and 1,1 metres in height. Up to 4 people can sleep there, a bit Spartan perhaps, as the trimaran is designed for sports enthusiasts and the young at heart.

A hatch in the cockpit open into a very large storage (500 litres) that can hold all the nautical equipment such a vessel requires, including the motor. At the bow, there is a small storage for personal luggage; additional storage space can be provided by suspending bags under the deck.
